Cath Bann has been working for CND – with a break to have children – since 1997.

‘The indomitable Betty Tebbs asked me a terrifying question at my interview for the role of Regional Development Worker at Greater Manchester & District CND back in 1997,’ recollects Cath. ‘In your opinion’, she said ‘what are the causes of war?’ I responded with only a moment’s hesitation ‘Fear!’ That was my introduction to CND. The peace movement eventually stole my heart. How could it not?’

Cath left Lancashire for a temporary move to Cornwall and then returned to the other side of the Pennines, where she currently works for Yorkshire CND.

‘I love being part of CND, and although I’d like to say “Long May it Continue!” I’d really rather it didn’t need to!’
