CND Peace Education’s teacher training and CPD sessions can only be delivered in universities, colleges and schools in England.
Cost
The sessions are free, but we do request that the university/college/school reimburses our travel costs if possible.
Room requirements
A suitable classroom or hall with a computer and data projector (ideally with audio) is required. We may ask for access to a photocopier if extra worksheets are required for the session.
Information
The first part of the session focuses on discussions about controversial issues that may be taught in the trainees’ subject(s), the reasons they should be explored, how best to do this, and some of the challenges. The remainder is dedicated to showcasing some of CND Peace Education’s free workshops and activities, both to encourage trainees to book us for sessions at their schools in future, and to offer examples of approaches that can be used to explore controversial issues in the classroom. We will endeavour to make the session as relevant to your trainees’ subject(s) as possible.
Cancellations
Please give us plenty of notice for cancellations.
Health and safety
You are required to have valid Public Liability Insurance and a Risk Assessment for the area that will be used for the session. CND can provide an Activity Risk Assessment upon request.
