29 April 2004: for immediate release

Kate Hudson, Chair of CND

“The 11 sailors that left HMS Trafalgar after expressing fears over its safety were right to be concerned by the danger of nuclear submarines. No amount of money can ever make a nuclear submarine safe. There is always the risk of nuclear accident. The government must ensure the health and safety of its citizens and the environment by getting rid of the submarines and putting the money into cleaning up the toxic legacy.”
