Join Kingston Peace Council/CND to mark Hiroshima Day.
The plan is to hold a rather different event this year. There will be a socially-distanced vigil outside the Bentalls Centre from 12 noon – 1pm then we will go to Canbury Gardens and at 1.30pm observe a two minute silence, followed by floating white flowers on the river.
We hope you will be able to join us for the vigil and ceremony and stay afterwards for refreshments/picnic lunch in the gardens. Please bring your own picnic.
During the vigil we will hold posters reminding people that it’s 75 years since the first atomic bomb was dropped, and of the urgent need for complete nuclear disarmament. It’s hoped that in this way we can spread the message more widely. All welcome.
