In the midst of a health pandemic, with the British economy in steep decline and cuts in both domestic and international development spending, the Tories have announced an 10% annual increase in the UK’s military spending for the next four years. That’s £24.1 billion, on top of the current commitment to increase it at an annual rate of 0.5% above inflation.

Join Jeremy Corbyn and guests for Labour CND’s webinar exploring why the government’s hike in the military budget won’t result in real security for the UK, and why Labour must oppose it.

Speakers: Jeremy Corbyn MP (former leader of the Labour Party); Richard Burgon MP (Secretary, Socialist Campaign Group of Labour MPs); Paul Rogers (Emeritus Professor of Peace Studies, Bradford University); Emma Dent-Coad (Kensington and Chelsea Councillor and Vice President of London Region CND); and Nadia Jama (member of Labour’s National Executive Committee).
