Join Kick Nuclear (London), Japanese Against Nuclear London and CND (Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament) for their four 8th anniversary Remember Fukushima events.
The third of these events will be a parliamentary public meeting with three Fukushima mothers. This is a free event which does not require tickets – all are welcome.
Speakers:
Akiko Morimatsu: A Fukushima mother who evacuated to Osaka with her two young children and is a leading light in the Japanese anti-nuclear movement & campaigns on behalf of the victims of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. In March 2018 Akiko appeared in front of the United Nations Human Rights Council to speak on behalf of the victims of the Fukushima Daiichi disaster.
Asami Yokota: A Fukushima mother who remained in Fukushima but evacuated her son to Hokkaido.
Mitsuko Sonoda: A Fukushima mother who evacuated with her young son and husband. She now lives in England and campaigns on behalf of the victims of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. Mitsuko has also appeared in front of the UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council) to speak on behalf of the victims of the Fukushima Daiichi disaster.
Dr Ian Fairlie: CND council member who is an independent consultant on radioactivity in the environment.
Dr David Toke: Reader in Energy Politics in the Department of Politics and International Relations in the University of Aberdeen.
