The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament is recruiting a General Secretary to start work in the autumn – someone who’s committed to abolishing nuclear weapons in Britain and globally, and capable of taking the campaign forward at a time when the danger of nuclear war is closer than it’s ever been.

CND plays a leading role in the peace movement. We are internationally known and respected, with a record of punching above our weight.

Our GS will:
-understand the political context in which CND operates
-have the ability to think ahead
-work within priorities set out by our annual conference and quarterly council
-be flexible and responsive to changes in the context of campaigning
-be a good communicator who’s able to represent CND on diverse public platforms, and
-work with members, supporters, and partner organisations across society

Our GS will also:
-take overall responsibility for coordinating CND’s work
-have the managerial experience needed to line manage our staff team
-be flexible and responsive to changing needs and priorities
-work cooperatively with a group of elected national officers, and
-liaise with our network of regional, area, and local groups

The CND General Secretary is a full-time, London-based post. Our office is situated in N7 with easy access to transport links. The salary is £51,825 and is subject to annual review.
