- No to Trump – No to NATO – London Demonstration
3 December 2019 - The New World Disorder – anti-NATO summit
30 November 2019
On the 3rd and 4th of December the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) will mark its 70th anniversary with a Heads of State Summit in London. With US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan set to attend this gathering of the world’s largest nuclear-armed military alliance, it’s vital that the peace and anti-war movements mobilise.
NATO is an aggressive and expansionist nuclear-armed military alliance which plays a dangerous global role – it’s still in Afghanistan 18 years on and is expanding further into Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.
Kate Hudson, CND general secretary, said:
“The NATO summit will be a crucial opportunity for our movement to oppose Trump’s nuclear warmongering and highlight the dangerous role NATO, as a nuclear alliance, plays in raising international tensions.”
CND is working with British and international partners to co-ordinate protests in London.
