Professor Gar Alperovitz is an eminent historian and political economist who has held senior office in the US Congress and State Department. But he is best known to many of us as the historian who completely reshaped the debate about the use of atomic bombs by the United States in 1945. Indeed he has thoroughly debunked the myth that it was necessary to drop the bombs on Japan to end the war.

We are honoured to screen this new interview with Gar Alperovitz as part of our commemorations of the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
