Walter Wolfgang is a vice-president of CND and Chair of Labour CND. He is a lifelong peace activist and was formerly a member of the Labour Party’s National Executive Committee.

He became known to the general public after cameras recorded him being forcibly ejected from the annual Labour Party Conference in 2005 for shouting ‘nonsense’ during Jack Straw’s speech on the Iraq War.

Walter was a founding member of CND and was on the committee which organised the first Aldermaston march.

‘CND has been a big success,’ says Walter, ‘yet the danger of a nuclear war leading to the end of humankind is greater than ever. The struggle is on. We shall overcome.’
