Join the Christian Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament for its 2018 Conference. One year after the United Nations agreed the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and with the Church of England recently passing a motion in support of the Treaty, these are exciting times for our campaign.
The Conference will hear from experts who have been working on the Treaty with updates about its progress and what the UK would have to do if it were to sign up.
The Conference will be a fantastic opportunity to gather with other Christians who share our vision of a world free of nuclear weapons. We hope you will be able to join us on the day.
Speakers include Canon Sarah Hills from Coventry Cathedral will provide our welcome and talk about the work being done in Coventry to bring about peace and reconciliation; Ben Niblett from Tearfund will talk about campaigning successes and engaging Christians and Janet Fenton from Northern Friends Peace Board will talk about latest developments with the Ban Treaty and what the UK can do to engage.
There will also be two workshops running. The first will focus on the motion passed by the Church of England General Synod, and how we can all maximise its effect. The alternative is a workshop on engaging Christians in campaigning and what we can all do to bring about a world free of nuclear weapons.
The Conference will be followed by Christian CND AGM, which is open to all members, though only those with 10 months membership may vote.
This event is free, but it helps with planning if you can book your ticket
