Join Peterborough CND to mark the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki.

At 10.30am, gather by the cathedral archway in Cathedral Square for a candle vigil, a walk through the cathedral to the river, and perhaps float some flowers down the river.

At 6pm, we will light candles and hold a 2-minute silence.
We will then walk to the river to float candles down the river in remembrance of the dead.
Please bring your own flowers, any flowers including wild flowers as long as they are not rare.
The oleander has become the official flower of remembrance because it was the first flower to bloom in Hiroshima after the destruction of the city and radiation.
Social distancing and covid safety will be respected at all times, please.
All people of peace and goodwill will be welcome to all the events of remembrance held by Peterborough CND and Peterborough Peace Campaign on 6th and 9th August Hiroshima and Nagasaki 75th anniversaries.
