Join Nuclear Free Local Authorities Scotland to discuss climate change, ‘Just Transition’, nuclear weapon ban declarations and divestment matters.
Speakers include:
– Cllr John Alexander, Leader of Dundee City Council and its NFLA representative will provide a local welcome.
– Pete Roche, NFLA Scotland Policy Advisor, will provide an overview of the NFLA report on the climate emergency and decentralised energy (the report will be launched just after the English and Irish local elections).
– Matthew Crighton, Friends of the Earth Scotland, will provide background to the Just Transition and Divest Scotland movements to create and fund new green jobs.
– We hope to have a senior Dundee City Council officer to provide an overview of their innovative work to develop a low carbon city.
– Sean Morris, NFLA Secretary will outline its work on supporting the ICAN Cities Appeal and its interest in the ‘Don’t Bank on the Bomb Scotland’ divestment campaign.
