Southampton CND will mark the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on Sunday 8 August at 8 pm in Riverside Park, all welcome to join.
The Sheriff of Southampton will say a few words and Dr Peter Burt From Drone Wars UK will give a short address. Paper boats containing a candle will be available at 50p to the public, who will take them to the nearby pontoon on the river Test and launch them on to the river. The paper boats with their lit candles should then drift on the water in a beautiful line. As the sun sets we remember all those who perished from the atomic bombs, and we commit ourselves to action to end all nuclear weapons production today.
