Sands Films is organising a series of peace events to mark the opening of the London Defence & Security Equipment International Arms Fair 2019.
A representative of Extinction Rebellion will join this screening of ‘The Good Soldier Schwejk’. Although they told him his war would be the war to end all wars, this film is still needed today to point out the absurdity of war. Today we have “green” land mines to protect the environment! Dramatically, if the climate crisis is not tackled through solidarity, men will revert to force and violence to secure reduced resources: war will, again, be the reward of passivity.
