Following last week’s shock announcement that the Government intends to lift the cap on the number of nuclear warheads possessed by Britain, members of Parliamentary CND have come together to table an Early Day Motion condemning the move.
The motion points out that the Government’s decision runs contrary to our obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty and poses the very real risk of bringing about a new nuclear arms race.
