Join us in welcoming the Japanese Peace Boat as it docks in London tomorrow (Thursday 21st June) as part of its global voyage.

The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) will host an event to welcome the Peace Boat on Thursday 21st from 17.30-19.00 at Greenwich Park next to the Cutty Sark.

For further information: see the flyer.

The event seeks to raise awareness of the humanitarian consequences of nuclear technologies used for weapons and energy. The evening will see speeches by survivors of the Nagasaki atomic bombing and the Fukushima nuclear disaster, as well as leading campaigners, and there will also be traditional Japanese drumming and live art.

Support our call for all governments to join the 16 countries that are leading the way for multilateral negotiations on a global treaty to ban and eliminate nuclear weapons for everyone.

We will also be calling for an end to reliance on nuclear power and investment in sustainable energy.

The Peace Boat is a Japan-based international non-governmental and non-profit organization that travels around the world promoting peace, human rights, equal and sustainable development and respect for the environment.
