The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament is pleased to announce that the following will appear at a press conference hosted by the joint organisers of the anti-war demonstration this Saturday:

Dr Francesco Checchi, researcher on death rates in war zones
Hetty Bower, 103 year old anti-war campaigner
Ben Griffin, former SAS soldier gagged by the government after speaking out on rendition & torture
Kate Hudson, Chair of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament
Mohammad Sawalha, President of the British Muslim Initiative
Lindsey German, Convenor of the Stop the War Coalition
The fifth anniversary of the Iraq invasion will see globally co-ordinated demonstrations from Norway to Japan, from South Korea to Poland, as well as those in the US and Britain.

The London demonstration will assemble on Saturday at 12 noon in Trafalgar Square for a rally, then march down Whitehall, cross the Thames via Westminster Bridge and come back over Lambeth Bridge to surround Parliament, with a short closing rally in Parliament Square.

In addition to many of the above speakers, the rally in Trafalgar Square will include Bruce Kent, Tony Benn, Green Party MEP Caroline Lucas and Omar Deghayes, recently released from Guantanamo Bay after being held for five years.

The demonstration has been organised by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, the Stop the War Coalition and the British Muslim Initiative.
